Faculty / Student Exhibition

Friday, February 17 Reception

 

The BeachArtCenter’s Student / Faculty Exhibition 2012 showcases the works of the Center’s instructors and their students.  The show will be on exhibit from Friday, February 17 to Friday, March 23, 2012, opening with an Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday, February 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Students who are currently enrolled in a class at the Center or have been in the past year are eligible to enter.  The reception and exhibit are admission free. 

The BeachArtCenter offers classes in watercolor, watermedia, oil, acrylic, sumi-e and portrait painting; pottery, photography, jewelry making and more.

The Judge for the show will be Frank Saso, a nationally known, award winning artist who has travelled the world to paint.  His work hangs in many corporations, homes, galleries and in the Pentagon.  Ribbons will be presented to the best of exhibiting students.

Bob Gray Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony 

Friday, January 13, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The Beach Art Center kicked off the New Year with the traditional Bob Gray Welcome Back Members’ Show, opening with a reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday, January 13.  The show will run through Friday, February 10, 2012.  A variety of art media from the members of the BAC is featured. 

 

The judge for the show was Susan Rollins Gehring, painter, printmaker, President of the Professional Association of Visual Artists and Past President of the Dunedin Fine Art Center.  Following are the winners and Susan's comments.

 

"This is a nice show and everyone should be proud of the work shown.  As with all judging and especially when you are judging a members show, there are always more works that you would like to recognize.  With that said, here is the list of winners."

Open to all artists, the Home for the Holidays Open Holiday Show and Sale offered artists the opportunity to exhibit and sell their best work.  The December 9th reception featured a cookout and a Holiday sing-a-long.

Beach Art Center Select Group Exhibition 

This exciting group exhibition of six PinellasCounty artists showcased oil painting by Robin Borland; watercolor by Margaret Donehoo; oil painting by Sandy Kawer; mixed media, acrylic, pastel and drawing by Ralph Montgomery; acrylic painting by Frank Saso; and acrylic painting by Carla Terp.

 

PAVA Exhibit Impresses 

The Beach Art Center was proud to host the Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA) Annual Members Exhibition.  The group is composed of artists from through out the state of Florida and has been in existence for over 23 years, providing educational programs and exhibition opportunities for its members.   Artworks included painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and more, providing a fascinating look at a great variety of quality art and media.  We wish to thank the members of PAVA for sharing their work with the Beach Art Center and its community.
