Summer Adult Classes
Please note: The 4-week period is intended to be a pay period only. It is not meant to imply that any set curriculum can be completed in that time. Students will pay each 4 weeks as long as they are registered in a class. Students must sign up for 4 consecutive weeks at a time. Attendance is the responsibility of the student. There are no refunds for missed classes.

Independent Studies in all Media - Taylor Ikin

Tuesday, 1-4 p.m.

This class is an independent studies class with Taylor inspiring, instructing and critiquing. Taylor is well-known for her utilization and instruction in the use of YUPO paper . The paper is furnished free of charge. Taylor Ikin is a past president aned current Board Member of the Florida Watercolor Society. Her current major project is The Hillsborough Collection, a one-woman traveling exhibition showcasing 43 landscape paintings depicting conservation ifforts in Hillsborough County. Intermediate - Advanced. $60 members/$80 nonmembers each 4 weeks.
 

Sumi-e or Suiboku method of using black ink, water and color with Hiroko Borish

Thursday, 1-4 p.m.

Learn all the techniques of oriental brush painting. Although familiar with both western and oriental techniques, Hiroko;s beautiful paintings primarily reflect her oriental background. $60 members/$80 nonmembers each 4 weeks.

Pottery with Jane Erickson

Thursday, 10-1 p.m.

Beginner through Advanced. Jane will assist students in exploring their choice of hand-building or wheel-throwing. Students will receive individual attention and oversight while they learn to use the wheel, glazes, the extruder and slab-roller. Jane is a graduate of San Francisco State University and has taught pottery for over 30 years. $60 members/ $80 nonmembers each 4 weeks. $20 materials fee includes clay, glazes and firing.

Drawing with Doug Land

Friday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Draw with local professional artist and instructor Douglas Land. Designed for beginning or active artists, each class will have instruction, handouts, drawing, review of materials and techniques, and discussion. Materials for the first class are a pencil, paper and eraser of choice. Fee is $45.00 per session.
