Beach Art Center's Kreative Kids Summer Camp
The Beach Art Center's Kreative Kids Summer Camp for Children opens the week
of June 14 - 18, 2010 and runs ten weeks to the week of August 16 - 20. It is
for youth 6 - 10 years of age from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Five weeks of the
summer will feature a morning, 9:00 a.m. to noon art camp for Preschoolers
called Lil' Artists. Campers will be divided into groups by age and rotate
through two to three instructors and lesson plans each day until the projects
are completed on Friday. Clay will be a daily constant. A preschool component is
planned for half days every other week
Art projects at the Camp will be explorations and adventures based on
established, fun, weekly themes that enhance cognitive thinking skills and
creative self confidence. Campers will work in a variety of mixed media, found
object and three-dimensional projects as well as two-dimensional drawing and

Join Lori Benton, the "Creative Mommy", in this class for children
ages 3 - 5 years exploring drawing with charcoal, watercolors, acrylics,
textures, form and clay. This is an open ended art process in which children
will also learn about famous artists.

Up to three family members can be on one class fee.
Members: $75 for 6 classes once a week, $150 twice a week
Non Members: $85 for six classes once a week, $170 twice a week.
$10 per person materials fee per six classes.
We all have busy lives. What can we do together to build memories? Family Crafts
will feature a different medium each week for a parent/child combination.
Leather Craft, Beading and Crimping, Clay Bead Designs, Beeswax Decoupage and
Wire Wrapping will highlight the classes.
Claytastic for Kids

Ages 7 to 12
Children explore clay and learn artistic techniques with Nancy
Phelps. If you have a creative child, let them prove to you they are simply
Claytastic! Coiling, pinching, rolling, slop and other fun stuff will be
discussed. Please note: Plan on getting messy.

Break Art Camp for Kids

will be offering the Kreative
Kids Spring Break Art Camp for children ages 6 - 10 years of age March
29 through March 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Sponsored in part by the IRB Rotary Club, the all day workshops will
include Mixed Media, Painting, and Clay Sculpting.
This is a fun, entertaining, hands-on, and educational camp for
children to learn about visual arts. Registration
is $30 per child per day for one day or all three days.

Birthday Clay Party for Kids at the Beach
Art Center
Why not have your child's birthday party at the Beach Art Center? Have a fun
arty party making a clay project. We will fire their artworks and call you when
they are ready. You can leave them as they are or you can paint them at home. We
provide the art teacher. Two hours (one and a half hour with the teacher)
for up to fifteen children. $175 - BAC Members Only.

POTTERY CAMPS
Students learn hand building techniques including coil, pinchpot and slab, glazing and
wheel-throwing. 
" Miss Jane" teaches pottery to all ages. She excels with children
and has had a successful after school program this year. Her students will learn
hand building techniques including coil, pinchpot and slab. Students will learn
to use glazes, the extruder and slab-roller. Older students will learn the use
of the "wheel".
At the end of the 2week session, parents, etc. are invited to a "reception"
and awards to view
their child's work. This is a big moment for the children and we encourage
your attendance.
Cartooning
and photography will be combined in hand-tinting your own photograph and
transforming it into a cartoon character.
