IMPRESSIONIST LANDSCAPE PAINTING

This 1-day workshop is designed for anybody who is passionate about learning new skills in painting landscape with any level from the beginners to advanced. With the medium of your choice: oils, acrylic or watercolor (recommended previous basic knowledge of chosen medium) each student will be given personal instructions and attention.
There will be a demonstration of the painting in the studio and outside and the exciting experience of painting en plein aire (outdoors).
Please be prepared to paint outside.
We will break at mid-day, please bring your own lunch.
At the end of the workshop there will be a critique of the paintings.
FIGURES ON THE BEACH WITH SOROLLA WORKSHOP
Local Artist Shawn Dell Joyce offers a fabulous Plein Air figure painting class that happens on Indian Rocks Beach with a live model. Learn about the artist Joaquim Sorolla and see examples of his figure paintings on the beach and learn how he sees color temperature differently than other artists. Then try your hand at “Painting the color of light” on the beach en plein air with a live model in a flowing clothing.
Expect to do a small study, and a large finished piece (12x16-16x20).
Bring your plein air easel and equipment, picnic lunch, a hat or umbrella is suggested.

Strum and sing open to all levels, all ages. Words and music will be presented on a large TV and we'll play together. Participants will need their own ukulele and tuner. No other supplies or materials are required. Come join us for a night of strumming and singing all your old favorites.

Florida Artists Group Gallery Exhibit

We are pleased to welcome members of the Florida Artist Group (FLAG) to the Beach Art Center! This January 3rd through the 28th, the walls of the Art Center will be filled with their unique work.
The Florida Artists Group is a not-for-profit organization of professional visual artists who have attained international, national, and state-wide recognition.
The public is invited to view the "New Start, New Art" Gallery Show anytime during our regular hours Monday through Friday 9am-4pm.
Please join us at the Opening Reception on Friday, January 14th from 6-8pm.

Make a pastel painting of a gulf wave! Follow along step-by-step with pastel artist Shawn Dell Joyce and learn new techniques and tips! All participants get an Ampersand Pastelbord to work on and a few Mount Vision Pastels to try. Bring your own set of soft pastels (not oil).

Remembering Larry Gerwig
It is with great sadness that we share that our dear friend, Larry Gerwig, passed away Wednesday, April 21st, 2021.
Larry's commitment to the Beach Art Center knew no bounds. He was a long time Board Member and Chair of both the Facilities and Gift Shop Committees. Larry was a well recognized Artist and a long time student at the Beach Art Center. His joy, talent and commitment will be greatly missed.
