Thursday Afternoons 1:00pm-4:00pm

Learn the basics of watercolor!

This step-by-step class will teach you how to start at the very beginning of watercolor.

You will learn how to mix color, how to adjust value and create light. Color Theory, Composition, Application Methods, and Basic Studio Supplies needed will all be covered in a supportive environment that will encourage you to work at a comfortable pace. We will touch on many subjects during this course including terms that define the watercolorist in the community.

The Instructor will provide the subject matter and all students will work on the same painting.

Class will consist of demonstration followed by time allowed for the student to practice in class.

Most classes will complete one painting per session.

Students will want to have at least 2 sheets of Arches Paper to start. This will make 8 paintings! All supplies listed can be purchased on-line at the following locations: Cheap Joe's, Jerry's Artarama, Blick Art Supplies, Amazon.

Deborah had been a dabbling artist all of her life. She started taking lessons from various artists, many of them right here in Indian Rocks Beach. She has studied in workshops from many National and Internationally known artists as well. She went from beginner classes to Award Winning and is now entering the world of teaching beginners. You will learn the basics of what is needed to complete watercolor paintings you can be proud of. This class takes you from the very first step on up. You say you can't draw a stick figure? Don't worry about that here. We start from scratch.
