MOLD MAKING & PEWTER CASTING
Saturday, February 12 +
Sunday February 13
In this 2-day workshop we will explore the world of pewter by creating 2 small figures (2 - 3 inches) using found objects, wax and small plastic toys. Cutting them apart and putting them together in unique ways to create a small sculpture. We will then make rubber molds of the objects.
On day 2 we will learn how to cut open the molds, casting the pewter, and finishing the pieces. You will leave with 2 pewter sculptures and 2 reusable rubber molds that you will be able to make more pieces with using techniques you have learned.
Students should bring any found objects, small plastic toys, the teacher will provide some.
Bring a sharp exacto knife.
