Create a whimsical patterned toy bobblehead out of clay! Toys with moving bobbing heads are believed to date back at least 150 years. Students will be inspired by the bold graphic works of art inspired by Romero Britto. He combines elements of cubism, pop art and graffiti painting in his work, using vibrant colors and bold patterns as a visual expression of hope and happiness. Britto is a Brazilian born artist who now lives in Miami Florida.
Students will create a ceramic bobblehead learning the pinch pot and slab techniques. They will also create a mixed media painting inspired by Britto’s Work.

After years of creating art and some years teaching others how to make it, I have become aware that so much of the joy of what I do is about the connections made with other people and art. For me expression in creativity started with sewing at an early age and spread into other genres such as painting, jewelry making and pottery.
