June 2020 News
Updated: Oct 29, 2020
During the Covid19 closure our classes, workshops, and gift shop were not there to provide the income we so rely on to keep the doors open at the BeachArtCenter. If you are able to help us recover this loss in revenue, just click on the link above and we thank you. If you not in a position to help at this time, we understand and thank you for sending us your best wishes.
Reopening and Keeping You Safe!
Message from Board of Directors
We are thrilled to share that the Beach Art Center (BAC) will be opening our new doors on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 10 a.m. We are following all CDC guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for all who enter the BAC. We will be practicing social distancing and wearing our face masks. Please just know behind our face masks there will be huge smiles greeting you. The BAC staff and volunteers will be wearing face masks for your safety and ours. If you do not have one, we will be providing one for you upon entry. First, we will be opening will the Gift Shop. The Gift Shop is stocked full of color and creativity: hand painted cards, gift bags, fabric art, jewelry, original paintings, pottery and more... all created by local artists. Next we are scheduling a new art exhibit. The theme of the upcoming gallery show is "Art is Hope". Our hope is that you will share with us what you've been doing since last we saw you, a new work you've created while staying at home, or as always you are welcome to enter works done within the last two years. With this show all work must be for sale and if your entry is sold you may replace it with another piece at no additional cost. NOTE: Due to new CDC requirements, art drop off will be limited to specific dates and times. Check the BAC website and upcoming emails for this information.
Pottery Studio Re-Design!
The Pottery Studio wall was replaced to support our new windows! The new wall construction meant we had to empty the studio which gave us a chance to really clean house! When you return to the studio, you'll see a newly reorganized area with increased space to work. BAC Volunteers have built space specific shelving and organized all supplies and equipment. It is all very exciting! Ask for a pottery tour when you visit!
Have Classes Started?
While we are not running in-house classes at this time, many of our instructors are teaching your favorite courses online! Go to https://www.beachartcenter.org/classes to explore the course offerings available now. We know you want to get back to creating at the art center so we will be holding special art sessions later in July. Keep checking the website for new postings.
Our regular weekly classes will resume in August. When you come back, class sizes will be reduced to comply with social distancing guidelines. Pre-registration will be necessary to ensure a seat in class and for increased safety of our staff, volunteers and students. Our new registration system will simplify registering for a class. We encourage you to contact the office in advance of your class if you need assistance.
We are so excited to see you all soon. Please Stay Well, Stay Safe and Keep Creating!
