Onsite Classes Return to the Beach Art Center & Remote ZOOM Classes Continue! For information on all classes, see our website www.beachartcenter.org/classes or check out our Facebook page.

ZOOM (Online Classes) Rock On! Our Zoom classes have been so successful that we have decided to offer them as part of our permanent program. Check out our website for full class details. These are live session classes, taught online. It doesn't matter if you are down the street or across the country. Snowbirds and part time residents – you’ll love it and we’ll love to see you! For more details, check out our website or Facebook page. Some of our new Zoom classes are:

  • "Paint Along with Barb" Acrylic Class held on Mondays

  • "Watercolor Step by Step" with Mary Spires held on Wednesdays (and Tuesday evening starting in Sept)

  • "Exploring Watercolor Magic" with Roberta Romeo on Wednesdays

  • "Pastel from Photos" with Shawn Dell Joyce on Wednesdays

On-Site Classes Return to the Beach Art Center We look forward to restarting live, onsite classes! Our next Art on the Rocks is being held September 4th (Exploring Resin Jewelry!). We hold the health and safety of our staff and students in high regard and, as such, have put in place Covid-19 protocols, such as social distancing and mandatory masks, consistent with CDC guidelines (details below).

If online registration isn’t possible for you or you are having any difficulties, please email or call the Administrative office. You can reach us at beachartcenter@gmail.com or call (727) 596-4331 in advance of your class. Voicemails can be left outside of office hours.

On-Site Classes include our “Art on the Rocks”, Weekly Classes and Special Workshops.

Upcoming Art on the Rocks

  • Exploring Resin Jewelry on Sept 4.

  • A Sea Turtle painting is scheduled for Sept 18.

Materials are included and at the end of the class you have a finished piece of art. Art on the Rocks sessions are typically $38 per person. Offered in the evening from 6-9pm. Previous experience is not required…. just come and have fun! Advance registration is necessary. Weekly Classes (on site) will start to return in September. Two of our favorite teachers return in September, Charlotte DiGennaro’s Water Media Class and Ron Marvin’s Oil Painting will both begin Tuesday, September 8. Watch the website and our Facebook page for more classes to be added. Please register in advance. Special Workshops – We are very excited about the schedule of special workshops coming up at the Beach Art Center. These are generally on weekends and from nationally recognized, award-winning artists. Some are single day classes and some run over two days. Prices and registration details can be found on our website. Advance registration is necessary.

  • Shawn Dell Joyce is teaching “Learn to Draw in 4 Hours” on Sept 5 and Oct 10.

  • Caroline Karp is teaching "Sunflower Painting Adventure" on October 17.

  • Charlotte DiGennaro is teaching “Paper Painting Collage” on October 3 & 4.

  • Shawn Dell Joyce will be teaching " Figures on the Beach with Sorolla" on October 25.

  • Violetta Chandler, well known Cottage Artist, will be teaching “Impressionist Landscape Painting” on November 7 & 8.


  • Joye Moon will be teaching "Large Luminous Florals" on January 16 &17

  • Carol Carter will teach "Watercolors from the Beach" on February 13 & 14.

  • John Clayton returns to IRB to teach “Plein Aire Color Bootcamp”, March 6 & 7.

  • Dick Ensing will be teaching “Paint Loose & Free Using Water-Mixable Oils" on March 27 & 28.

  • Suzanne Natzke is returning with “Light Up Your Watercolors" on April 24.


We are following all CDC guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for all who enter the BAC. We will be practicing social distancing by limiting class size and separating class chairs 6' apart.

All staff, volunteers and students will be required to wear a face covering or mask that covers your nose and mouth. Sick and vulnerable persons should not enter the building. No-touch temperature will be taken. All who enter must register upon entry. Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout BAC. Due to these Covid-19 precautions, please do not bring snacks to share.
