With Suzy Pease

Starts 1/16/20!

Plunge into the creative possibilities! This class will explore methods and techniques of hand building sea creatures and MORE with clay.  Using slab, coil, and pinch techniques, learn to make creatures beginning with simple shapes and forms in step by step processes. Guided by instructor, Suzy Pease students will build, decorate with texture and detail, then glaze several pieces of their own creation. Projects may be made to be functional OR sculptural. Students may work at their own pace in a relaxed environment.  Create a jolly puffer fish, sneaky stingray, an octopus on a teapot, or a seahorse pendant...just to name a few of the endless possibilities! So dive into the deepest depths of creation and join us on this Sea Excursion!!

*PLEASE NOTE: Potters need 3 to 4 classes to complete ONE piece from creation to firing.

Student Supply List:  Students must purchase materials from the Beach Art Center at the first class and each time more clay is needed.

Materials Fee (paid to Instructor) of $20 includes, clay, glaze, and firing.

At an early age, she found her love for the Arts...with whatever came into her hands, she created!!  Formerly a Fine Art Teacher and National Board Certified Educator, Suzy found her true passion in sculpting when she studied under internationally renown Ceramicist, and Professor, Kurt Weiser at Arizona State University in 2011.  Upon returning home to Florida, she began building her ceramic studio, becoming a "Mad Scientist" with experiments in method and media.

Since her debut, Suzy has gained praise and recognition in her community, and has become an accomplished sculptor, having won many awards.  Suzy also believes in giving back...she is Co-Founder of The Life Smiles Project, a non profit that brings Art to hospitalized children.  She also donates proceeds from her dog paw pendants to assist local Animal Rescue Facilities.
