Intro to Printing Fun with a Gel Plate

In this beginners workshop find out what a gel printing plate is and how to use it to make beautiful prints with acrylic paints. We’ll cover color mixing and additive and subtractive printing techniques using stencils, masks, stamps, and more. Monoprinting using a gel plate is simple and easy without the need for a printing press. We will explore creating textures and patterns using commercial stencils and stamps and handmade masks. Bonus: Learn how to make your own foam stamps to use on your printed papers. Whether you are a newbie or have created with a gel plate before there will be lots of time to explore the possibilities! Be prepared to become addicted to having FUN!

Marilynne Wasielewski

Marilynne Wasielewski is an award-winning artist who is most inspired by the shapes, colors and textures of her natural surroundings and the play of light on all she sees. Her work is based in reality but painted in an expressionistic style. She is most interested in the creation process itself and works intuitively. This allows her to respond and make decisions about the direction of the work with freedom and spontaneity. She relocated to Tampa Bay, Florida from the New Jersey shore and holds a BS degree in Fine Art. She has also studied with many nationally respected artists including Pat Dews, Joan Fullerton, and Stephen Quiller. Marilynne serves on the Board of the Professional Association of Visual Artists and the Miniature Art Society of Florida.
