Mastering Composition

This workshop is structured in three parts. During the first part we will use examples of work by famous artists and work done by the workshop attendees to cover the following aspects of composition. Why composition is important. The Elements of Art most important in creating a composition and how to arrange them. Using composition formulas and free style composition. The second part covers deciding the best composition for proposed paintings from photographs by analyzing the photographs. This will be followed by by group critique of paintings offered by workshop participants. Third part gives attendees the opportunity to work on compositional designs of paintings they are considering.

Meet your Instructor...

Terry Denson

Terry Denson is a popular local instructor and an award winning artist. She is active in the local art community and a past president of the Florida Watercolor Society. She has been traveling the country in her RV for the past year, painting as she goes. She is known for large, vibrant and cheerful paintings.

Workshop Policy

All fees associated with classes and workshops are non-refundable.  In the event a registrant needs to change or cancel their registration, the registrant should contact the Beach Art Center as far in advance as possible. Any agreement to change, cancel or transfer a registration after the class/workshop date has taken place is made at the sole discretion of the instructor.  

Beach Art Center reserves the right to cancel workshops if minimums are not met or for any other reason relevant to business needs. In the event of a cancellation initiated by Beach Art Center, the registrant will receive a full refund.  Beach Art Center does not hold credits on account for future use.
