Weekly Class - Continues thru Summer
Fired Up for Pottery (Tuesdays)
Karen VanVyve
Instructor:
Tuesdays 6pm-9pm

Get your hands dirty and experience the satisfaction of designing your own pottery.  In this class you will create bowls, cups, boxes, animal sculptures, lidded vessels and more!

Students will be introduced to basic hand building techniques which include pinch pot, slab, and coil construction.  Students will learn alternative decorating processes to make their work unique - such as slip, sgraffito, image transfer, and stenciling. Potters will explore texture and color and use a variety of glaze’s on their work.

You'll also have the opportunity to work on the pottery wheel.

We will explore these techniques through classroom demonstrations, which students can use to personalize their own projects.

Meet your Instructor...

Karen VanVyve

After years of creating art and some years teaching others how to make it, I have become aware that so much of the joy of what I do is about the connections made with other people and art. For me expression in creativity started with sewing at an early age and spread into other genres such as painting, jewelry making and pottery.
