KID PWR! Gallery Show
Call for Children's Art in All Media!
The Beach Art Center is pleased to announce our 2024 KID PWR Gallery Show featuring the work of children in our community! We invite school-aged children (K-12) to participate in a children's art Gallery Show that will be on display in our gallery in June and July 2024 during our Summer Camp program. In addition to artwork being on display for families and visitors to see in person, this show will be posted in a “KID PWR Show 2024” Photo Album on Facebook where you can download pictures and share with friends!
Children do not need to be students in our Summer Camp program or members of the Beach Art Center to participate. This show is open to all children grade K-12 and will feature the work of young artists from the dePaul School for Dyslexia directed by local artist, Pamela Miles.
The KID PWR Gallery Show will also display work from young artists participating in our Creative Kids Summer Camp program.
ART TAKE-IN:
Monday, May 20 – Friday, May 24

(Summer Camp Artwork will be accepted each Friday during Camp: June 7 – July 26)

OPENING RECEPTION:

KID PWR Certificate Presentation at 6:00pm
Open to the Public – all are welcome!
The KID PWR Show Reception on Saturday, June 1st will be open to all families as well as the public. Snacks and complimentary drinks will be available for the kids, and refreshments by donation for the adults. We'll take pictures of the children with their art, and each participant will receive a certificate commemorating their participation in the show.
There will be a Closing Reception for Camp participants only on Saturday, July 27, 12:00pm-1:00pm that will include Pizza and Ice Cream!
GALLERY REQUIREMENTS - Beach Art Center - KID PWR Gallery Show 2024
During “Art Take-In” (dates below) you will fill out a short registration form.
All Artwork must remain on display for the duration of the show unless arrangements are made.
There is no entry fee for this show, but donations are welcome to help defer the costs of the show.
Each Artist may submit 1 or 2 pieces of artwork.
All forms of artwork are welcome - Pencil, Charcoal, Crayon, Pastels, Chalk, Ink Pen, Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Mixed Media, Collage, Clay, Photography, Digital Art. Choose your best work!
The size of the work is limited to no larger than 20"x26" (allowing for a variety of shape and form.)
Artwork may be framed, but it is not required.
HANGING ARTWORK must be 1 of the following:
1. Framed Artwork should have a wire secured on the back for hanging. No sawtooth or other types of hangers are allowed. (Google “how to hang artwork with wire”). Please do not use “Dollar Store” frames unless they are wired for hanging and all sides are intact and secure.
2. Canvases (with or without a frame) should also have a wire for hanging. (Google “how to hang a canvas with wire”).
3. All other hanging Artwork should be attached to a mat board or rigid surface so that we can hang it using binder clips.
4. We do not hang any artwork from the ceiling.
NON-HANGING ARTWORK: All non-hanging pieces will be displayed on a pedestal or table.
