Papier Mache Pets

June 24 - June 28

Week 4 - Art Camp 2 - FULL!

Papier Mache Pets

Students will have fun creating their very own papier mache animal in this creative camp. Campers will work on their animal project a little bit each day. We'll begin with an empty coffee creamer container and an egg carton for the facial features. We'll adhere ears and feet from plastic lids, cardboard, and whatever else we can find! We'll use papier mache paste to adhere white paper pieces, and patches and hearts cut with a paper punch to decorate the body. We'll also use all kinds of fun decorations like pompoms and gems. The kids will take home their finished animal on Friday. We will also create a papier mache treasure box, and we'll have fun with some non-mache projects too.

Cindy Wilhoite

This is my 4th year teaching summer camp at BAC. I love teaching the kids fun and exciting art. I was a k-12 art teacher in Maryland for 27 years before calling Largo my home.  I am currently a substitute teacher at many Pinellas County schools.
