Ready to take your wheel-throwing skills to the next level? This intermediate 4-week series is designed for students who have some experience on the pottery wheel and want to build confidence, refine their technique, and create more complex forms in a small-group setting.
Students will focus on developing their wheel-throwing skills, including:
Refining centering and throwing techniques
Improving control of clay and wall thickness
Creating larger and more complex functional forms
Trimming and refining pieces with intention
Exploring form, proportion, and surface
Building confidence with glazing and finishing techniques
This class is designed for students with prior wheel-throwing experience. Individualized instruction and guidance will help you troubleshoot challenges, strengthen your technique, and develop your own approach to making.

Members: $175
Non-Members: $200
Clay: $30 for a 25 lb bag (added in registration fee)

Meet your Instructor
Christina Lorenzen
A potter and ceramics instructor with over 35 years of experience, Christina earned her teaching degree in 1989 and have since taught art at both the elementary and middle school levels. In addition to classroom teaching, she has led watercolor painting classes at Gibson Tech. Most recently, she has been teaching clay camps at the Spiva Center for the Arts since last August.
