The Thunderbird hotel on treasure Island with the original brick wall that held the iconic neon sign. 1957 it opened 5 cars representing the time are parked out front With the vacant lot next to it.

Roberta is an award-winning artist, FWS 2024 Past President, contributing artis at Martini and Matisse, and member of multiple watercolor societies around Florida.  She the instructor for “Exploring Watercolor Magic” at the Beach Art Center here in Indian Rocks Beach.

You can’t drive down IRB Gulf Blvd without glancing at the unique building known as the Kooky Coconut.  As a watercolorist, I embrace the transparency and bright colors to set the stage for this fun Florida experience at the Kooky Coconut.

Linda, an impressionist Plein Air painter from Indian Rocks Beach, captures tropical scenes from Florida, to the Caribbean. Painting in natural light on organic materials, she brings to life tropical waters, sunsets, and lush landscapes.

About the Artwork

Built in 1939, the Moseley House was donated to the City as a museum preserving IRB’s history. Carl H. Moseley, its builder, also created the Big Indian Rocks Fishing Pier, once Florida’s longest. His grandson, R.B. Johnson—shown in the artwork—grew up visiting IRB and later served as Mayor.

About the Artwork

The necklace captures the colors, sights and environment of old Florida, when the pristine nature of the Gulf - the sea, birds, palms and shells - predominated. Spiney Oyster was prized by the natives.

Parking:

Parking is available in front of the building, at Kolb Park across the street, and in the grassy area behind our building.  Students may also park in the lot between our building and the Indian Rocks Beach Library even though signs say

"City Hall Parking Only."

Please do not park in the paved spaces behind our building that are reserved for "City Vehicles Only."
