Get ready for an exciting summer at the Beach Art Center! Our Creative Kids Camp 2026 is designed to spark imagination, inspire creativity, and bring kids together for a summer filled with art, fun, and friendships.

Running June 8 – July 24, the camp offers six individual weeks of creative exploration—giving families the flexibility to sign up for one week, multiple weeks, or the full six-week experience. Each week brings a new artistic adventure, allowing children to explore different art forms, express themselves, and build confidence in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Camp will be held at the Beach Art Center

June 8-12

Animals on Land, Air, And Sea
Instructor: Cindy Willhoite Our Camp Artists will create ( real and imaginary) animals using a variety of upcycled items and art materials: acrylic paint, watercolor, papier-mache, water bottles and even coffee filters! Turtles, flamingos, dolphins, jellyfish OH MY!

Week 2

June 15-19

K-Pop Hunters
Instructor: Jenn Perez This specific class is reserved exclusively for maturing artists in grades 4 through 8. Draw and paint a soda pop, create a Derpy cat piece of pottery on the wheel, make a noodle cup, make a tie dye t shirt, make your own microphone, and lots of singing to our favorite songs and more! Join us for a high-energy summer art camp where music, style, fantasy, and creativity collide. Inspired by the bold visuals of K- pop, campers will design characters, create art, and build a world where pop idols secretly battle demons behind the scenes. This camp encourages collaboration, imagination, and storytelling through art—perfect for fans of K-pop, fantasy, and dynamic visual design. By the end of the session, campers will have a collection of artwork that brings their K-Pop Demon Hunter universe to life, blending fierce creativity with star-power style.

Week 4

July 6-10

Cartooning and Illustrating a Party Book
Campers will create thier own storyline using cartooning skills, drawing, and painting to play with a Party Theme. Artists will have opportunities to learn new techniques in watercolor, collage and cardboard sculpting. This camp is full of surprises, so, come on....Let's Party!

Week 5

July 13-17

Catching Wind and Light
Instructor: Cindy Wilhoite Weather Science meets Artistic Expression in this exciting camp. We will enjoy using a variety of upcycled items and traditional art medium to express ideas about weather. Artists will create whirley-gigs, rainbow windchimes, rain guages and suncatchers with daily weather investigations and journals.

Week 1

June 8-12

Under the Sea
Inventive and creative Sea Creatures emerge in this Ocean Theme Art Camp. Using Clay and Glazes, campers will learn hand building techniques and structural considerations..Final projects include fanciful fish bowls and clay fish, wind chimes and splashy paintings.

Week 3

June 22-26

Crafting Mines
Instructor: Jenn Perez Get your creative mode on and get engaged with exploratory Projects based on the game "Minecraft", creating bit-type artwork, game characters/objects, and more! Campers will jump into the world of Minecraft! We’ll build a colorful collage inspired by the game and build & paint our own piece of pottery. This camp is perfect for creative builders who love to craft and explore!

Week 4

July 6-10

Magical Artistry
Instructor: Jenn Perez Creativity meets wizardry! Step into the enchanting world of Harry Potter and unleash your artistic talents in this immersive art class. Whether you're a devoted Potterhead or simply drawn to the magic of art, this class offers a unique opportunity to explore the whimsical universe created by J.K. Rowling through various artistic mediums- canvas, clay, painting, crafts and more!

Week 6

July 20-24

Flowers and Insects
Instructor: Christina Lorenzen This specific class is reserved exclusively for maturing artists in grades 4 through 8. This clay building camp will focus on including natural elements into the design of Wheel-thrown vessels. Such fun, to add a flower or sculpt an insect into a Bowl, Piggy Bank, coffee mug or plate! Firing clay pieces and adding glazes will require a pick up time to be arranged after the camp has ended. Details will be provided during camp.

Week 2

June 15-19

Pirates of Indian Rocks Beach
Instructor: Christina Lorenzen "YoHo! Its a Pirates Life for Me!" Campers will immerse themselves in Pirate lore as they make their own Treasure Map and Pirate costume to wear for fun adventures and , of couse, pirate treasure! This will be a mixed media class with drawing, painting, collage and sculpture instruction.

Week 3

June 22-26

Exploring Materials and Styles of Art
Instructor: Cindy Wilhoite Campers will learn about traditional styles of Modern Art, everything from Impressionism to Expressionism. We will discuss and model art activities after famous modern artists, such as, Paul Klee and Andy Warhol, with instuction in Acrylic painting, Printmaking and Collage.

Week 5

July 13-17

Monsters, Fantasy Creatures and Aliens
Instructor: Christina Lorenzen This camp is wide open for your imagination to create creatures using basic hand building skills with clay. Pinching, rolling and coiling clay , campers will create bowls or boxes with creature features. Firing clay pieces and adding glazes will require a pick up time to be arranged after the camp has ended. Details will be provided during camp.

Week 6

July 20-24

Quirky Creatures and Crazy Characters
Instructor: Kate Phillips Campers will create our own kooky characters with special paint effects, creative printing techniques and layers of collage. We will explore shapes and textures, colors and patterns as we dive into a sea of mixed media techniques and bring it all together in a story book designed by you!

Parking:

Parking is available in front of the building, at Kolb Park across the street, and in the grassy area behind our building.  Students may also park in the lot between our building and the Indian Rocks Beach Library even though signs say

"City Hall Parking Only."

Please do not park in the paved spaces behind our building that are reserved for "City Vehicles Only."
