This 4-week beginner series is designed to help you truly understand how watercolor works without feeling overwhelmed. This course builds skills step by step so you can gain confidence with brush control, water management, layering, and color mixing before tackling more complex subjects. No prior experience is required. Each week focuses on a core theme: Week 1 explores brush control and clean washes through simple fruit studies and illustrations. Week 2 introduces wet-in-wet and glazing techniques and how to establish values for single color studies. Week 3 covers color mixing and picking colors, we'll paint a full color study together based on your new skills. Week 4 focuses on composition and planning as you complete a guided final project of your choice. Classes include approximately two hours of guided instruction and practice exercises, followed by one hour creating a simple finished piece based on that week’s technique so you’ll leave each session with both new skills and something beautiful to show for it. Students register for all four weeks as a progressive series to build strong, lasting foundations in watercolor.
All levels, age 10+ (under 18 must have parental supervision. If the parent wishes to participate, they must also register)
PAYMENT COVERS ALL 4 WEEKS OF THIS CLASS. STUDENTS MUST ENROLL FOR THE WHOLE SERIES. NO REFUNDS FOR MISSED SESSIONS.
