WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE
Art you can watch happen.
Plein air means painted outdoors, on the spot, in a single sitting — no photos, no studio, no second try. On December 5, thirty artists will set up along the gulf and work from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, capturing whatever light, color and atmosphere the day brings.
Take the Art Walk through five beach communities at your own pace — meet the artists, stop for lunch at a local restaurant, spend some time on the sand. Then join us at the Beach Art Center for the Wet Paint Gallery Show & Sunset Celebration, where the day's paintings go up on the wall still wet, ready to be viewed, judged and bid on.
Coming from out of town? Make a weekend of it. Stay at the Sheraton or Marriott resorts on Sand Key at the north end of the Art Walk, or at one of the inns and resorts around Indian Rocks Beach — and turn Brushes on the Beach into a coastal getaway: art, local dining and December sunshine on the Gulf. HOW THE DAY WORKS
Come for an hour or stay for the whole thing.
1. CHECK IN
Start at the Beach Art Center or one of our designated plein air locations and pick up your official Art Walk booklet.
2. TAKE THE ART WALK
Use the map in your booklet to find artists painting throughout the five beach communities. Visit as many locations as you’d like, in any order.
3. EXPLORE THE COMMUNITIES
Browse the shops, eat at a local restaurant or spend some time on the sand.
4. STAY FOR THE SUNSET CELEBRATION
Meet the artists, enjoy the reception and bid in the silent auction for the chance to take home an original work of art.

BRUSHES TO CANVAS
Painting begins. Easels go up across all five towns — look for the Brushes on the Beach flags.
Late morning
BEST HOURS TO VISIT
Canvases are far enough along to read but still changing. Artists are happy to talk while they work.

PAINTING ENDS
Artists pack up and head back to frame their work for the evening.
5:00 pm
SUNSET CELEBRATION
Doors open at the Beach Art Center. Awards at six, bidding closes at seven.

Where to find the artists
Easels will be spread across five beach towns, from Sand Key down to Redington Shores — beach accesses, docks, parks, a couple of favorite waterfront spots and businesses.
The exact spots go in the printed Art Walk booklet. RSVP and we'll have one waiting at the Beach Art Center, or grab one at any site check-in on the day.

Getting between towns
It's about eight miles end to end on Gulf Boulevard. Drive it, or ride the Suncoast Beach Trolley.
What to bring
Sun hat, water, comfortable shoes, and a layer for the evening — December cools off fast once the sun drops.
Kids, dogs, weather
All ages, leashed dogs welcome, and we run rain or shine. Give artists a few feet of room while they work.

Why RSVP?
Brushes on the Beach is free and open to everyone, but we encourage you to RSVP so we know you’re coming and can have your official Art Walk booklet ready at check-in.
Your booklet is your guide to the day, featuring a map of artist locations, artist bios, the event schedule, and information from local businesses and community partners supporting the event.
After you RSVP we'll email your check-in pass. Bring it printed or on your phone — for quick check-in and to pick up your booklet at the Beach Art Center or one of our designated event locations.
Walk-ins are always welcome, but RSVPs help us plan and make your check-in easier.
SUNSET CELEBRATION 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Wet Paint Gallery Show & Sunset Celebration
Every painting made that day comes back to the Beach Art Center, gets framed and hung within the hour, and goes on sale still wet. Live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, awards at six, bidding closes at seven — and paintings that did not exist in the morning.
Free and open to everyone! RSVP so we can plan accordingly for refreshments. Please bring your check-in pass. Donations are welcome at the door to help support The Gulf Beach Art Center.
