2D/3D Driftwood Tree

Bring the beauty of the Great Lakes into your home by creating a unique tree from natural driftwood. Students will select pieces of driftwood and explore ways to arrange and construct them into a two- or three-dimensional tree.
Through hands-on instruction and guidance, students will work with natural materials such as driftwood and shells to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art. If desired, trees can be adorned with a coastal or holiday theme. A limited supply of shells will be available for decoration, and students are welcome to bring their own choice of embellishments.
What to Bring
Students should bring any desired embellishments to personalize their tree, such as shells or other decorative materials. A limited supply of shells will be provided.
10+ with a parent or guardian. If the adult wishes to participate they must also register.

Patty Sachse
In 2020, Patty retired “officially” after 33 years in public education. Art, Education and a love of learning have always played crucial roles in her life. She continues sharing her love of art and creativity in community programs such as: Art Rocks the Park, Scouts, Creative Arts at the Erie County Fair, and providing instructional classes for all ages in my community. Although she loves creating in nearly all mediums, her favorite resources are natural and recycled materials. Rather than filling landfills, she collects and creates from bottles, caps, driftwood, broken china, shells, pebbles, branches, old furniture, pallets and even old bowling balls.
