Ready to create a lively, expressive acrylic painting with texture, movement, and a strong focal point? In this hands-on course, students will explore composition, sponge-painting techniques, dynamic linework, and acrylic layering while creating an 8x10 canvas. Participants will work with fluid elements and fresh mediums to build a painting that feels balanced, dimensional, and full of movement.

Students will focus on:

  • Creating a balanced composition with a strong focal point and supporting elements

  • Using sponge-painting techniques to build a soft, multi-tonal sand effect

  • Exploring dynamic linework and sweeping elements to create movement and flow

  • Guiding the viewer’s eye across the canvas through composition and mark-making

  • Practicing acrylic blending, layering, and brush control

  • Working with gel mediums to explore paint flow, texture, and drying time

  • Developing techniques for bringing the focal subject to life with color and dimension

This class is designed for artists who want to experiment with acrylic techniques while creating a playful, movement-filled composition. Individualized instruction and guidance will help students build confidence with acrylics, explore new mediums, and develop their own creative approach. Instructor will provide all supplies except for aprons.

Location: Beach Art Center: 1515 Bay Palm Blvd Indian Rocks Beach
