Christine Peloquin
All Levels

September 17, 18, 2026
10:00 - 5:00 PM
Learn the joys of mixed media collage. In this workshop, I teach the fundamentals of collage, drawing, and painting while challenging artists to unlock and discover their inner voice. My teaching approach is tailored to each individual and their level of experience, offering techniques for both beginners and advanced artists looking to expand their skills.
We will explore working with papers, fabrics, found objects, past artwork, pencil and charcoal drawing, and acrylic painting. Students will also experiment with gelli plates, stamps, and monoprinting on paper as part of the collage process. While materials are a personal choice, students are encouraged to incorporate some of their own previous artwork into new pieces.
The goal of this workshop is to explore new mixed media techniques and help each student uncover their authentic artistic voice. I teach two drawing methods using the student’s own photos: a grid method for creating freehand drawings at any size, and a tracing method that works well for smaller pieces or those new to drawing. On the first day, we focus on collage fundamentals and include drawing demonstrations so you know what to expect and what kind of photo references to bring. On the second day, we build on those collages with drawing and painting.
I work one-on-one with each participant to help bring their project to a place they love, and encourage everyone to incorporate mixed media collage into their existing artistic practice. Whether you enjoy creating portraits, figures, landscapes, still lifes, or abstracts, I will support you in your chosen style. There are no strict rules—just a fun, supportive environment designed to introduce new techniques and help you grow as an artist.
All levels are welcome!
