Do you love watercolor but feel a little intimidated by getting started? Watercolor can be easy and enjoyable once you learn the basic techniques and where to begin. This class is weekly class (beginning October 13) designed for students with little or no previous watercolor experience.

Through step-by-step instruction, demonstrations, and plenty of personal guidance, students will explore fundamental watercolor techniques. Each week, the instructor will provide subject matter, and students will work together to complete a painting. Most classes will complete one painting per week.

This class meets one day per week on a continual basis. Students should register by Monday for the Tuesday class. This class begins Tuesday, October 13.

• Build confidence with watercolor through simple, step-by-step instruction and demonstrations.

• Learn fundamental watercolor techniques, including basic washes, blending, and brush handling.

• Explore color mixing and learn how to create a variety of colors and harmonious color combinations.

• Understand value and how light and dark areas help create depth, dimension, and interest in a painting.

• Develop an understanding of composition and how to arrange shapes and elements for a balanced painting.

• Practice applying watercolor techniques through weekly projects with individual guidance and feedback.

What to Bring

Please refer to the supply list provided by the instructor. Students should bring all required watercolor supplies to each class. Students must also bring their own table coverings/drop cloths and water containers.
